Tough Conditions. But great catch!
With the conditions we faced I believe we made the best catch out of it we possibly could. We fished extremely hard, but the clouds, seas and overall conditions made it brutally tough. We caught two Cobia pulled the hook on another nice fish and the little bit of time we Spanish fished it was game on. Im really ready for this crappy weather to clear the area so we can get back at it. Fishing should be red hot this upcoming week. Thanks again guys for the continued business! B

Cobia, Cobia, Cobia ohhh and JUMBO Spanish!
Gary and his gang got it done with us today! It was one of those mornings where you really questioned going due to weather, but super glad we pulled the trigger. It was definitely a rough ride getting out, but I’m super pumped they toughed it out because fishing was down right amazing! First Cobia of the day was a BOOWOW. Never missed a beat everyone got to catch very nice Cobias and we released several. One being an absolute slob 58 incher! We put out some Bowed Up Spoons wh

Big Red Drum and Cobia
Tough tough.. As the man says, ”Never leave fish to find fish.” We knew it was going to happen when the tide changed, but patience got the best of me today and we made a big move. To say we saw (many) BIG fish would be a serious understatement. It was big Cobia, after big Cobia, but unfortunately for the life of us we couldn’t get them to bite anything. We tried it all, they would just swim up behind the bait and wouldn’t eat. Super, super frustrating! We did stumble across a

You know it’s a good day when you are having a hard time catching keeper cobia UNDER 50 inches! WOW-UNBELIEVABLE! It was non-stop action from start to finish. Biggest Cobia was 57 pounds releasing many more. Caught our limit of Spadefish and bonus Mack Attack bite! Meathaul in the 2k17 eclipse!
2k17 Eclipse...... I’d consider it a great success!! Aaron and his gang got it done. We started right out the gate with catching a nice pair running out; One being our first keeper 48.5 incher! With the tide being right we decided to go after some Spadefish. It was game on! We all made quick work of it and boxed a limit. Then it was back to Cobia fishing and it was on fire! Aaron boated his new personal best, a stud 58 incher, 56.5 pounder. Then we hooked a pair and pulled th

Amazing fishing! Spanish Mackerel and Cobia #meathaul #salttreated
Joey and the gang put the “MACK DOWN” on some fish today. We were very fortunate and started the day off straight in the meat. Right out of the gate we saw a very solid pair and hooked, one being our first keeper of the day. Action never slowed down, we quickly boxed our 3 fish limit by 10:30 with the biggest being 54 inches and released more. Then we switched gears and put out the Bowed Up Spoons. It was game on, catching Spanish Mackerel. With monsters at that, we caught by

BIG FISH
BIG FISH DAY! We had David and the old school power house gang out. It was red hot starting right out the gate. First keeper of the day was a whooper 61 incher! We caught well into the double digits and released several really nice fish, one being an absolute stud bolt 58 inches estimated to be 55-60 lbs. We kept our 3 fish limit 61, 48.5, and 48 incher. What a beautiful class of fish and a stellar day! Thanks again for fishing with Salt Treated. We have open dates so don’t m

Very solid sight fishing in the Chesapeake Bay #booksalttreated
It’s been EXTREMELY good despite the conditions. We have really been blessed with great trips. We had Brian his son and a couple buddies out with us yesterday. The condition, yet again, were very poor for sight fishing. However, we fished very hard and it payed off! Everyone got to catch their first ever Cobia. It was a stellar day with a very solid class of Cobia we kept our 3; a 55, 48 and 47 incher and we released more. Congrats on the bang up day guys. We really appreciat

WOW! Amazing fishing.
shewww It has almost became normal to sight fish in the rain for us here at Salt Treated Fishing. We had Felix and his gang out with us and he made the long drive from New York. We cancelled his trip this time last year due to bad weather, but with all the recent practice in the rain here lately we thought we could pull it off again today. Plan of attack was to leave early and try for Sheepshead to scratch that off there bucket list. We headed out and we got set up. It was ju

Great Cobia trip in tough conditions
The fishing was well earned, and there wasn’t any help from the weather! We had Bill and his gang out with us this was their first time fishing with us. The weather almost made us call the trip, but we stuck our noise out anyway. The game plan was to head out and check some buoys, but that plan was quickly shot down because it seemed that was everyone else’s plan too. So, it was time to kick it into straight grind mode. For the first 2 hours of our trip we sight fished in the

Chesapeake Bay fishing report #cobia #redhot
We had Jason and his gang back out with us for their yearly vacation fishing trip. It was some great weather and stellar fishing. It was also a special day because we had Ric Burnley tag along. He is putting pictures together for an upcoming article he is writing in the Anglers Journal. We were very fortunate right out of the gate and capitalized. We caught 8 Cobia total, keeping our limit biggest fish was around 45 inches. We did pull off what Rick called “the cover shot pho
