Great Cobia trip in tough conditions

The fishing was well earned, and there wasn’t any help from the weather! We had Bill and his gang out with us this was their first time fishing with us. The weather almost made us call the trip, but we stuck our noise out anyway. The game plan was to head out and check some buoys, but that plan was quickly shot down because it seemed that was everyone else’s plan too. So, it was time to kick it into straight grind mode. For the first 2 hours of our trip we sight fished in the rain. Fish are “already wet right?” Tough to see them, yet we made it happen and were VERY fortunate! The rain was off and on pretty much our entire trip with the occasional sun. Everyone on the boat stayed in on the action. We trolled and caught Spanish all day, biggest being 18 inches. Despite the conditions we still landed 7 Cobia keeping the 2 biggest being 48 inches. The crew and I were super stoked considering the forecast. Thats why you have to go and fish hard!
