VIRGINIA'S LEADING INSHORE CHARTER SERVICE
& COBIA AUTHORITY
SALT TREATED FISHING

THE BAY IS IN OUR BLOOD.

When it comes to fishing Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay, no inshore charter operation catches more fish, more consistently than Salt Treated Fishing.
And while we're widely regarded as Virginia's cobia authority, our tournament record testifies to the fact we catch it all.
Our passion is unrelenting. Our record is second to none. And our customers never go home without an awesome story to tell.

FLEET

25' PRIVATEER
25' Privateer built in Belhaven, NC. The wide beams make for a stable, spacious, and enjoyable ride. The boat is equipped with nothing but the best from Simrad electronics to the quiet and reliable new Yamaha four-stroke engine. The Privateer is also equipped with a fully rigged fishing tower essential to sightfishing and catching your cobia of a lifetime. Six-speaker Wet Sounds audio system with Bluetooth -- equally essential!

30' PRIVATEER

30' Privateer with 10,6 beam powered by brand new Caterpillar diesel. This boat has more amenities like bathroom head, heat, 3 driving stations, state of the art electronics, and all around maximum comfort while fishing the Chesapeake Bay. But what sets this boat apart, is the extra tall and spacious tower that makes sight fishing a breeze and gives customers a view few other Bay boats can’t provide.

CAPTAIN
Salt Treated Fishing is owned and operated by USCG certified 100 Ton Master, Captain Zachery Hoffman. Captain Zack grew up with the Chesapeake Bay in the footsteps of his back yard. His passion for fishing has been lifelong.

By age 20, Captain Zack had rebuilt a 24’ Privateer and started his own charter business, Salt Treated Fishing. Since 2013, he has found the winner's circle in many major tournaments on the Bay, and in 2014 became the youngest angler to appear on George Poveromo’s “World of Saltwater Fishing” show.
Captain Zack and his Salt Treated charter operation guarantee to accommodate all skill levels and ensure your trip will be an unforgettable experience while fishing with one of the most successful and well known inshore charter operations in the Mid-Atlantic.

CAPTAIN
ZACk HOFFMAN

Salt Treated targets just about every sportfish in the Chesapeake Bay and Virginia Beach waters. While we're widely considered to be Virginia's Cobia authority, we also score top among Flounder, Drum, Striper, Seabass, Trigger, Sheepshead, and Tog. Whether you're on vacation or a local looking for new adventure, we'll put you on the meat!

TOURNAMENT
WINS

Captain Zack and the Salt Treated brand make their name further known at seminars like the Bass Pro Series where Zack has lectured on cobia as "Virginia's cobia authority" since 2013. Captain Zack also frequents talk radio, as well as syndicated television such as George Poveromo's "World of Saltwater Fishing." Zack, just 22 when he last appeared on that show in 2014 -- remains the youngest professional angler to co-star alongside Captain Poveromo.
Finally, Captain Zack enjoys extensive coverage in major nationwide publications such as Coastal Fishing and Saltwater Sportsman where he provides "how-to" columns.

"Zack Hoffman is one of those new generation guides. He's a youngster, but has a wealth of knowledge and impressive record that speaks for itself... There's something special about having an ace like him riding shotgun with you."
