Chesapeake Bay recent Cobia and Spadefish reports #SaltTreatedFishing

**Last minute opening July 19th!

It was a good weekend of fishing on the Salt Treated boats! Lots of great fishing and great clients. Started the weekend off with having Dan and his gang back out with us. We had a large weight on our shoulder to try compete with their previous trip last season. Unfortunately, we were faced with some tough conditions. However, we managed to scratch out a good catch with multiple Cobias, bringing home a 45 incher and spent just a little bit of time Spadefishing. It was a great bonus to the Cobia that added for a great bonus with the biggest being around a pound.

Next up was Scott and the Waste Management gang out for a trip. We had a very short window before they had to catch a plane to go home so we headed out and took advantage of the time. The Cobia fishing was firing. Catching a total of 10 Cobia the guys kept 2 up to 45 inches and releasing the rest. The guys had a blast!

Friday Joe, Ken, and myself started to fish day one of the Monarch Cobia Tournament. To say the fishing was amazing would be a serious understatement. We saw tons of 40-50 inch fish, just never got our shot at the JUMBO. However, we did land the two biggest fish of the day. Both being 53inches we kept our 3 fish limit. Saturday, (day two in the tournament) same situation; saw an amazing class of fish between 40-50 inches we didn’t really put much effort into catching them because we needed at least a 50lb class fish to make an appearance. We did get our shot at a fish of my dreams but unfortunately she spit the eel... such a heartbreaker. However, our 53 inch fish placed us 2nd in Day 1 Calcutta and 7th overall earning us $1200!

Captain Brian and Hunter also fished the tournament on the Salt Treated and had a bang up day catching many Cobia bringing Mike and his group home 2 solid fish. With tournament mode over its time to flip switch to the charter grind. Today we had Jim and the Maryland Marine Police gang back out with us the conditions made us really earn it. The clouds made it super glary, but we pulled it out and caught 9 Cobia, keeping 2 up to 46 inches and pulled two nice fish off. Thanks for the great trips guys we really appreciate the business and memories! Don’t miss out on this amazing fishery and give Salt Treated Fishing a call!

We had a rescheduling so we now have July 19th open weather looks great and fish are popping! Walk on for $225 a person everything included!
